Event: Temporary Sea Point Traffic Flow Changes Next Week

Temporary Sea Point Traffic Flow Changes Next Week
Details: The City of Cape Town would like to inform residents in Sea Point that proposed changes to traffic flow in Queens Road will be tested from Wednesday, 16 January 2013, for a period of two weeks.

As part of the test, Queens Road will be converted into a one-way street between Victoria and Kloof roads, with traffic flowing towards Signal Hill.

This trial is in preparation for the planned launch of a MyCiTi bus route from Queens Beach to the city centre, which will run along Kloof Road, right into Avenue Disandt and along High Level Road.

It provides an opportunity to observe how traffic patterns in the vicinity change. The results of the trail period will be used to make a final decision on the MyCiTi route in the area.

The roads affected will be signposted and traffic officers will be on hand to assist motorists. Residents in the immediate area will also receive pamphlets in their letter boxes advising them of this temporary traffic flow change for the test period.
